Dean of Music, Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts
Ms.Marquardt has significant experience in arts and culture in both Canada and Europe derived from more than 30 years working as a music educator, orchestra and chamber musician, examiner, entrepreneur and manager. Her experience stretches from leadership, management, administration, to grant writing and facilitation skills, with a focus in arts and culture and an in-depth knowledge of the classical and contemporary music landscape in Canada.
As a professional flutist Ms. Marquardt’s orchestral career began at the early age of 23 with orchestras such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and she continues to perform and tour regularly with Trio d’Argento and the Argento Collective. In 1998 she joined the faculty of the Royal Conservatory of Music, came to the Maritime Conservatory in 2018, is a member of the College of Examiners and a sought after adjudicator at music festivals.

With her diverse portfolio as an arts manager, and a certificate in Business Administration from York University, Ms.Marquardt continues to work towards promoting the value of arts education and its impact on communities.
